What is Google My Business and why your business needs it!

Google My Business is a tool that allows individuals or businesses to list their business on Google so that it appears as a card in search results.

This is great if you run a business because it gives a more prominent place on Google Search Results, drawing in more potential customers to your business.

Setting up a Google My Business Profile is relatively simple. Using a third-party provider may also help to ease and simplify the process of registration.

Process (might be different by the time you are reading this):

• Enter your business name.
• Enter your business category e.g. Financial Institution, Accountant Office, Logistics Company, Construction Company etc.
• If you have a store or office location select yes otherwise no.
• Enter your business address if you selected yes in the prior step.
• You may need to enter the areas where you serve your customers.
• Enter your business hours.
• Enter your website if you have one (it is easy to setup a website and we will shortly have an article about that too so keep a look out).
• Enter your phone number.

If your business has a physical address you will receive a postcard with a verification code on it after a couple of days. You will need to enter the verification code received by post on your Google My Business profile to verify your address.
